          Super-Cacao Walnut Bites

          Take your bliss balls to the next level with a homemade chocolate-coconut topping! We love grabbing one of these little energy bites before hitting the gym - or simply when we need a sweet treat. The protein and fats in the walnuts and coconut make them really sustaining and help prevent any sugar crashes. 

          Makes 12 large bites

          For bites:
          1 cup of soft dates (soaked in warm water for 15 min if not very soft)
          1 1/2 cups walnuts
          1/2 cup desiccated coconut
          pinch of salt
          1 tsp coconut oil
           
          For chocolate coating:
          2 tbsp Aduna Super-Cacao Powder
          3 tbsp coconut oil 
          2 tbsp coconut nectar or honey
          pinch of salt 

          For sprinkling:
          desiccated coconut
          cranberry powder

          Method:

          Soak the dates for 10-15 min to soften (unless very soft).

          In a food processor or a blender process all ingredients for the bites until well combined. Refrigerate while you prepare the chocolate coating.

          In a double boiler (or glass bowl over a pan of hot water), melt all ingredients for the chocolate coating. 

          Roll balls with the date-walnut mix using your hands or an ice cream scoop.

          Coat your bites in the sprinkle mix.

          Dip bites in the chocolate coating then top with the remaining sprinkle mix. 
          Refrigerate until set.
