Classic creamy oats get a superfood kick from our mighty moringa and a hint of mint flavour that works perfectly with the indulgent chocolate almond butter sauce. Healthy but decadent!
Ingredients
Mint Choc Chip Porridge:
- 1 tsp Aduna Moringa Powder
- ½ cup rolled oats
- 1½ cups almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
- ½ tbsp cacao nibs, pulsed in the food processor to break down a little
- Peppermint extract, to taste (start with a few drops)
- Pinch of salt
- Maple syrup, to taste (optional)
Chocolate Almond Butter Sauce:
- ¼ cup almond butter
- 1½ tbsp maple syrup
- 1½ tbsp Aduna Super Cacao Powder
- Pinch of salt
- Water, to thin
Toppings:
- Toasted coconut flakes
- Edible flowers
Method
- Place the oats, almond milk and salt in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and leave to cook, stirring frequently, for 5–8 minutes, until creamy and thickened to your liking.
- Remove from heat before stirring in the peppermint extract, cacao nibs and moringa powder. Taste and add maple syrup to sweeten if desired.
- For the chocolate almond butter sauce: place all ingredients in a small pan over low heat and whisk to combine. Add water, 1 tbsp at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Spread the chocolate almond butter sauce (you will have extra) on the bottom of a bowl. Spoon over the porridge, sprinkle with toppings and serve immediately.
