Developed by Melissa Hemsley using Aduna Super Cacao Powder, these overnight oats are rich, deeply satisfying and ready before you've even opened your eyes. This recipe proves that chocolate for breakfast is not only acceptable - it's genuinely nourishing.
“Aduna’s Cacao has become part of my regular kitchen rhythm. It’s rich, comforting and beautifully simple - stirred into overnight oats, blended into smoothies or whisked into a cosy hot chocolate. Naturally high in magnesium and flavanols, it’s superfood nutrition you can genuinely enjoy.” - Melissa
This recipe makes a batch of four which you can store in the fridge, turning five minutes of evening prep into a whole week of effortless mornings. Each one can be topped differently to mix it up - Melissa shares her favourite toppings below...
Ingredients
- 8 tbsp Aduna Super Cacao Powder
- 150g rolled oats (go for gluten free ones if you prefer)
- 4 tbsp chia seeds
- 800ml full-fat milk of your choice (Melissa recommends coconut for natural sweetness)
- 4 tbsp maple syrup or runny honey, to taste
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp vanilla extract (not essence)
- A small pinch of sea salt
Method
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl
- Stir well until the cacao is fully incorporated and no dry pockets remain. Add a splash more milk if the mixture feels very thick - it will thicken further as it soaks
- Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 3 hours, ideally overnight
- In the morning, stir each jar well, loosen with a little milk if needed, and add toppings to taste
