The African baobab tree grows in 32 different countries across the continent. There is no such thing as a baobab plantation; every tree is community-owned and wild-harvested. Our vision is to make baobab into a household name, creating a new market that could help sustain 10 million households in rural Africa. But whilst our baobab vision may be big, we also believe in starting small.
Aduna baobab is currently sourced from producers in Senegal and Ghana. We work in partnership with a grass roots organisation to harvest and collect the fruit from women producers in 13 remote rural communities.
At the time of year when the dry season is at its harshest and income generating activities are scarce, Aduna employs women from the community in our best-practice processing centre, ensuring that when you buy baobab from Aduna, you are making the maximum impact you can.
