Africa Inspired Gift Guide
We celebrate the vibrancy of Africa all year round, but Christmas is the ultimate time to share it by gifting friends and family with beautiful products that champion the diverse cultures of the continent. We've cherry picked a selection of our favourites:
Ghanaian designer Akosua Afriyie-Kumi is one of the hottest names in African fashion. Her brand AAKS makes luxurious handmade accessories inspired by and hand-crafted in Africa, using ethical processes and age-old craft traditions. The beautiful bags use organic natural fibres from raffia and are produced by weavers in the village of Bolgatanga, Ghana - very near Aduna's baobab processing centre in the Upper East region.
The range is available to buy in Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and Reformation, or you can shop the range on the AAKS website.
Whitley Neil Gin
Who doesn't love gin at Christmas? Whitley Neill is an award-winning hand crafted premium London Gin, inspired by the beauty and mystery of Africa, including our favourite Feel Good Fruit, baobab, as one of the key ingredients. It is smoother than more traditional gins, with a fruity clean taste and aromas that are both peppery and citrussy. We love it with soda water and a slice of orange!
Africa is home to many beauty remedies - proven over centuries of use. The Liha range of beauty products uses ingredients like shea butter, coconut oils and moringa, made with ancient African recipes. The products are top quality, homemade, vegan and organic. We love their gift sets that include a gorgeous limited edition AAKS bag, a bottle of Indah Oil, their Ose Gidi blacksoap and an exclusive mini candle.
Aduna Gift Tins
Our newly launched gift tins are perfect as a stocking filler or as a Christmas gift for a loved one. The iconic wax print fused with pop-art designs are a stylish way to bring the vibrancy of Africa into your home. The hardest part will be picking which print to go with!
Choose your favourite - or get all three - on our online shop.

Their Autumn/Winter 2016 Collection is inspired by the night sky and is full of elegant pieces that will shine at any Christmas party! Shop the range on the Artisan & Adventurers website.
Africa Rising Book
Africa Rising is a new book that celebrates the way art strengthens and unifies cultures, showcasing the rise of Africa’s young creatives alongside more established artists. Traditional colours, patterns and crafts are given a unique, contemporary edge - a must for the bookshelf of any lover of African design!
Available through gestalten.com.
The bold flavours of this range are a must for any kitchen! Essie’s sauces and spice blends are small-batch crafted, using West African spices and cooking methods. The blends are fused with other world flavours and are all gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and contain no MSG, artificial preservatives or other baddies. We can't wait to taste our way through the whole collection!
