Describe yourself in a sentence...
A Nutritional Therapist with a passion for divinely delicious food who is intent on showing people how easy it is to eat in a way that benefits our bodies and tantalises our taste buds at the same time.
My love for food began…
When I was first handed my own spoon! I grew up with meals that were celebratory affairs, my Mum and Grandmas always cooked from scratch and had my sister and I in their kitchens helping from the point we could wash up a bowl. I have always seen food as a form of care and affection and literally love nothing more than having the time to create some kind of delicious feast to share with my friends and family.
My idea of food heaven is...
Anything to do with herbs! Basically the bright fresh flavours synonymous with a warm summer evening where you can sit outside, shoes off, whiling away those long daylight hours. Something like a beautiful piece of barbequed fish covered in a really zingy salsa verde & a giant salad with loads of smoky grilled vegetables would be guaranteed to have me grinning from ear to ear.
My Feel Good tips…
Be true to yourself in all things -just because someone else finds something works for them it doesn’t mean it has to be the same for you. This can be in how you plan your day, what you eat, when/how you exercise, and how you choose to spend your free time. If you’re a triangle & you’re trying to fit yourself through a square hole don’t cut off your corners, find a better hole.
I’m inspired by…
An endless number of things! My Mum is literally amazing. I hope there is a day when people will speak of me in the way they speak of her. I am also astounded by the people I meet through my clinical work, the stories that come through my door never fail to make me pause & take a second look at things. I also find nature almost intoxicatingly inspirational. Before I did my post-grad in Nutritional Therapy I studied as an Environmental Geologist and have always found myself to be most at home and creative out in the wilderness. Any time I need a refresh or a motivational kickstart you can 100% count on me heading for the forest or some open expanse of water to swim.
Baobab or Moringa or Super-Cacao?
Well that’s like asking someone to pick their favourite child now isn’t it!
If I had to make a decision it would be cacao because life wouldn’t be the same without hot cashew milk, cacao & cinnamon on a wintery evening, but my favourite smoothies and baked treats would definitely miss the other 2!
